Template information:

Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seater military aircraft with variable wing geometry. It was developed as part of the VFX program for the US Navy after the F-111B project was canceled. The F-14 was the first of the newer American fighters (so-called teen-series), which were designed with regard to the experience of air battles with MiGs during the Vietnam War.

The F-14A first rose to the skies on December 21, 1970. The aircraft was powered by a pair of 92.90 kN Pratt & Whitney TF30-P-412 jet engines, which were developed from the TF- 30-P-12 originally designed for the unbuilt series of on-board machines General Dynamics F-111B. Radar Hughes AN / AWG-9 allowed the two-member crew to search for air targets up to 315 km depending on their size and missiles with a flat flight path up to 120 km.

Aircraft production began after all tests were completed in 1972, and on September 22, 1974, F-14s were put into service in the U.S. Navy.

Strike Fighter Squadron 143 (VFA-143) , also known as "Pukin Dogs," is a U.S. Navy fighter squadron based at Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia. Pukin Dogs are operational squadrons of the squadron. They are currently attached to the Carrier Air Wing Seven and the USS George HW Bush.
